When he's done, she falters for a moment, struggling to come up with something to say.]

It's sort of like... he was messing around with the sun, and he got burned. So he asked the moon for help, and the moon laughed at him and said he wasn't in the habit of taking care of people like that. So the guy knows he should bail out, but that whatever he's got going with the sun isn't going to last anyway. It's just for fun.
